Star Wars™ Pinball VR – Classic Collectibles – A brand new pinball experience

Hey VR Pinball Pals!

It is time to introduce you to our other brand new table, Classic Collectibles!

Finally, a table that celebrates one of the core facets of Star Wars fandom – collecting action figures! The Classic Collectibles table focuses on the Classic Trilogy era, with missions from Star Wars™: A New Hope™, Star Wars™: The Empire Strikes Back™, and Star Wars™: Return of the Jedi™, and you will find a few other surprises as you play!

According to Zoltán “VZ” Vári, the designer of the table, Classic Collectible’s biggest innovation was also its greatest challenge. The 15 collectible action figures bring you the feeling of being a Star Wars™ toy collector, but this meant producing by far the most 3D models for any Zen virtual pinball table. It was a great challenge for both the character artists and animators to create this remarkable experience.

Furthermore, you can also bring the action figures to life through missions featuring classic Star Wars scenarios, like piloting the Millennium Falcon, lightsaber duels, and blowing up the Death Star. Actually, one of the first ideas from our veteran table designer was the Emperor’s Tower above the double helix ramp with the TIE fighter toys around it, and the operable wings of Luke’s X-wing as they alter the ways of the “X-ramp”.

Creating pinball tables requires great imagination. But where did the idea come from to create a table based on collecting action figures? There are times when a theme is a product of several brainstorming sessions or meetings. This time it was a little different. VZ told me that he just imagined what goals he would find tempting on a Star Wars table that was never before on our tables. Then like lightning, the idea came, and Classic Collectibles was born.
