We are honored to announce that we will be part of this year’s California Extreme! This classic arcade games show takes place in Santa Clara, California, July 28-29, and features hundreds of pinball machines and arcade games. Zen Studios will have a booth set up with our games for everyone to check out, and we will be available to answer any questions and talk about what we do! We will also be participating in a few panels at the event:
“The Future of Pinball: Evolution or Revolution” Saturday, July 28th at 4:00 pm
Pinball has a rich and glorious past – but how will it face the future? Our panelists all use different methods to preserve pinball’s traditions today and bring its timeless appeal to the players of tomorrow. Join us as we explore their ideas and insights into the future of the art form.
Zen Studios’ Creative Director, Neil Sorens, will be speaking on the panel along with some of the industry’s greatest minds and pioneers: Ben Heck, John Popadiuk, Gerry Stellenberg, Tanio Klyce, and Wade Krause.
“Inside Zen Studios,” Saturday, July 28th at 3:30 pm
Zen Studios’ digital creations for consoles and mobile devices have been described as “post-pinball pinball games” offering the ramps, targets, and flow of traditional tables with the animation and freedom of a purely digital environment. Meet the team behind Zen Pinball, Pinball FX 2 and Marvel Pinball and learn how they create their games as they discuss their theories on digital pinball in the 21st century.
This panel will include Zen Studios’ Creative Director, Neil Sorens, Zen Studios’ VP Marketing/PR Mel Kirk, and Marvel Entertainment’s Chris Baker. Join us and learn about our work and what we’re all about!
We certainly hope you can come to the show, play some classic pinball, meet us, hear from those who came before us, and learn about the history of pinball. For show hours, pictures from previous years and more information, visit the California Extreme website.
